World Overview

Background

On Telaus there has always been a struggle between good and evil. Cults sprang up who were trying to summoning their evil master, bringing him into the primal plane of Telaus. In response to this societies were created to fight the cultists and thwart their plans on summoning the Dark. As the world modernized this struggle became less prominent as science began to take a front seat to the mystical.

However, the societies continued their struggle against the cultists and it was brought to climax 863 years ago when the cultists nearly succeeded in summoning the Dark. They were only thwarted at the last minute by the Legacy Brotherhood, who managed to block the entrance of the Dark into this plane. What they did not realize was the reprecussion of their action. As the Dark was thwarted a shockwave rebounded throughout the primal plane. Much like dropping a sheet of glass on the ground regions througout Telaus shattered into micro cells of reality. While non organic items can pass between these cells organic beings cannot. Furthermore, in some regions the laws of physics were slightly altered. Millions died after this catastrophe as cities and towns were cut apart.

Later, people realized another side effect of the shattering. Some people had been gifted with extra normal abilities. These people came to be known as Archons. The Archons also learned how to pass between cells of reality and devised a way to encode this ability into talismans, which they then could pass on to other people, allowing for more travel between regions.

Over time, a semblance of order began to arise from the dust as the Archons reign spread. The remnants of the Legacy Brotherhood, in seeing the new order arising created a truce and drew the Archons into it. They setup their mountain stronghold as a common ground where any and all Archons could meet in a semblance of peace. Caislea'n became a focus point for the domains, and has since been receiving tributes from them all, in order to continue operations.

The Domains

There are many domains througout the world of Telaus. However, to begin with we will consider the three most directly connected with the Castle (Caislea'n). These are New Raga, Trithome and Dezor.

New Raga is focused around a Victorian-era metropolitan city, and still maintains a democratic form of govenment with an elected Mayor. The Archons in New Raga maintain their distance and generally do not hold official offices.

Trithome is one of the regions effected by the shifting laws of physics, and electronics no longer function. This region has a high amount of steam driven and light technology. It is also a fairly arid region and is rather decentralized, spread througout townships and small settlements.

Dezor is a dezert domain ruled by a dictator Archon. The people of Dezor are held in tight control by the military troops of the govenment.
